What We Believe
We believe…
as it is written, that the bible is the inerrant inspired, Word of God, written by Holy men of old, as they were inspired by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:2, II Timothy 3:16).
We believe…
in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, omniscient and omnipresent (Psalm 147:5)
We believe…
that the Lord, the one sovereign God of the universe, absolute in all power and authority, was manifested to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as the Holy Ghost that empowers us forever and never leaves those who trust Him (John 1:1-18, John 14:16-18, I John 5:7).
We believe…
that in Jesus dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell (Colossians 1:19, Colossians 2:9, I Timothy 3:16).
We believe…
in the virgin birth. Jesus was both human and divine (Matthew 1:23, II Peter 1:4, Hebrews 2:16).
We believe…
in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and as firstborn from the dead, we also born again believers, have the same promise and hope (I Corinthians 15:3-4, Colossians 1:18).
We believe…
that the Lord ascended on high and send His Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 2,000 years ago, and it is the same spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek him today (Psalms 42:1-2, Ephesians 4:8).
We believe…
in baptism in water by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues as the spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth (Matthew 28:19, John 3:3-6, Acts 2:38).
We believe…
in a holy, sanctified life (I Peter 1:15-16) divine healing, (Mark 16:17-18) and communion (I Corinthians 11:23-26).
We believe…
also in the glorious catching away (The Rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His Church to heaven (I Thessalonians 4:14-18)
We believe…
that Jesus is the only saving name and whatsoever you do in word or in deed, do all in the name of Jesus (Colossians 3:17)
We believe…
that the term “marriage” has only one meaning and this is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single exclusive union, as delineated in the Scripture. God joined man and woman together in marriage, a lifelong exclusive sexual union. (Genesis 2:21-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9). Homosexual behavior is designated by God as sinful and abominable. (Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:26-28). God brought destruction on the city of Sodom for its sin. (Genesis 18:21, 19:29). It is condemned in the New Testament epistles to the church. (I Corinthians 6:9). Therefore, The City of Life Christian Church will not allow, conduct, or in anywise condone any same-gender marriage or union.

that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe…
that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography, masturbation, or any attempt to change one’s gender, or disagreement with one’s biological gender is sinful and offensive to God.
