The City of Life Christian Church is always in need of volunteers for various departments in the church. We're excited about you! The very fact that you are reading this, says so much about you. It indicates your desire to serve God, to grow and to make a difference with your life and in our church! Remember, we're Saved to Serve! 

VOLUNTEER OPENINGS (As of March 2009)

DEPARTMENT: Video/Television
Director: Deacon Robyn Haithcock

Camera Operators/Videographers (Principal Duties)
Openings for Camera Operators, and Videographers/editors. To work with our weekly telecast and upcoming new telecast in the Fall. Could become a permanant, paid position.
Required Skills
Should have some experience and knowledge of the television field. Able to operate a camera. Have a good eye for graphics. Must have computer skills. Must be a people person and able to take instructions and follow directions. Must have technical ability and able to grasp new concepts and technical terms. Must be dependable.
Reporting
Will report to our Director of Video Department and work very closely with the Bishop.
Training
Some training will be provided if you have good potential. You should have some natural ability and talent in this area. Comfortable learning new concepts and technical terms.

DEPARTMENT: Advertisement & Promotions

Sales Associate(Principal Duties)
Assist customers at the tape table after Sunday and Wednesday services with audio, album and book selections; collect and count money including credit card transactions; fill customer tape orders; and operate the duplicator machines. duplicate tapes for albums; pack Pastor's tapes , albums and books in boxes to be shipped to conferences in other states; and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Must be able to read, work well with others, have excellent people skills, and the ability to count money. Familiar with Microsoft Word is helpful. Must be enrolled and attending or have completed Class 101. If a youth, must be at least 16 years or older.
Training
Worker will be trained on all equipment prior to being assigned to the tape table.
Reporting
You will report directly to the Tape Table Coordinator and/or Director of Advertisment & Promotions


Marketing Representative (Principal Duties)

Create advertising campaigns to make The City of Life more visible to the community. Suggestions included, but not limited to : advertisng on billboards, buses, in newspapers, movie theaters, and hotels; write commercials for TV and radio stations, ads and special mailings to community and ordering promotional items. also, create and type Public Service Announcements (PSA) to be sent to various media (newspapers, radio, TV & etc.) advertising special church events.
Required Skills
Workers must have some experience working in this area, work well with others, creative and very knowledgeable about marketing ideas. Must have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word and well organized. Some knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop is helpful. Must be enrolled and attending or have completed Class 101.
Training
You will be trained on all department equipment including computer software.

Computer Graphics Specialist (Principal Duties)
Design audio/video/CD/DVD album insets and J cards, monthly Events Calendar, Life in the Spirit Newsletters, flyers, conference brochures and other duties as assigned. May be asked to assist in typing newsletter articles, and any other duties as assigned. Be available for emergency typing assignments if necessary.
Required Skills
Must be able to work well with others, is creative and has a thorough knowledge of computer graphics, especially Adobe PhotoShop and PageMaker or has the ability to learn quickly. Worker must be enrolled and attending or have completed Class 101.
Training
Workers will be trained on all equipment and graphics software, when applicable.

Office/Clerical Staff (Principal Duties)
Will operate the computer, file, do weekly or monthly mailings, keep information/record, must be organized, make the labels for all current master tapes and keep records of those tapes making sure those tapes are kept in the tape racks and any other duties as assigned. Responsible for front hall bulletin board. Send birthday, anniversary and sympathy cards to department members and mail audio tapes to prisons and The City of Life members who are sick and shut-in.
Required Skills
Must be able to work well with others, creative and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Understand and keep numerial and alphabetical filing system. Worker must be enrolled and attending or have completed Class 101.
Training
Every worker will be trained on all equipment and software when applicable.

DEPARTMENT: LIFE CONNECTIONS COLLEGE NETWORK
DIRECTOR: OPEN POSITION

DIRECTOR (PRINCIPAL DUTIES)
Provide leadership in coordinating and interweaving the College Network with the overall mission and vision of the Church. Work directly with College/Young Adult age members(24-30yrs.) in special projects. Plan and direct retreats, fellowships, discussion groups and creative projects to develop the College/Young Adults. Guide our Young Adults into opportunities for growth and development through enlistment for services in on-going church programs and project ministries. Provide for College/Young Adult classes in Life Academy. Provide leadership in maintaining records and the responsibilty list for all College Students and Young Adults. Provide leadership for regular ministries and programs for College/Young Adults. Supervise the writing and/or editing of a newletter to College Students, have at least two correspondance communications with the students each month. Work closely with all ministers of The City of Life Christian Church and coordinate all activities with the Director of Youth Ministry.
Required Skills
Must be able to work well with others. Must be a progressive, creative thinker and well organized. Must love young people, young adults and campus ministry. Should have a college background.
Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible Study, prayer and meditation. Must be a graduate of Class 301.
Training
Some training and development will be given where applicable.

DEPARTMENT: LIFE ACADEMY

AGE-GROUP COORDINATORS (EARLY CHILDHOOD, YOUTH, YOUNG ADULT AND ADULT)

J
OB DESCRIPTION: Work toward the goal of seeing that your area is fully staffed with approved and trained teachers and workers.
    • Set the agenda for the specific age-group staff meeting of your area and lead that meeting.
    • Be a source of encouragement and give expressions of apprecaition for the teachers and workers in your area.
    • Work with teachers and workers in your area to state goals, objectives and high standards of conduct of ministry for the department.
    • Contact each teacher in your area by phone at least once per month.
    • Report any curriculum needs in your area that will provide spiritual growth for the students to the Curriculum Coordinator.
    • Be the channel of communication between the teachers and workers in your area and the Life Academy Administrator/Christian Service Coordinator.
    • Visit the classrooms of your area regularly to insure the learning environment is appropriately maintained.
    • Take the needs of the teachers and workers in your area to the Christian Service Coordinator.
    • Provide a status report for each staff meeting.
OUTREACH COORDINATOR
DESCRIPTION: Recruit a person in each adult class to function as the outreach coordinator for that class.
    • Communicate to the teachers of the youth and children's departments that they are expected to conduct the outreach tasks for their classes.
    • Develop a simple but effective way to keep records on all class absentees and visitors follow-up.
    • Lead Life Academy in a focus on two groups (absentees and visitors) for regular follow-up.
    • Hold the teachers (children's and youth departments) and the outreach coordinators (adults department) accountable to follow-up on visitors and absentees during the second week after a visit or absence.
    • Provide a status report for each staff meeting.

SKILLS NEEDED FOR BOTH POSITIONS: Must be able to work with people. Should have a passion for people and Evangelism. Should have some computer knowledge. All data will be kept on computer. Training will be provided as needed.
